Selection Criteria: Trip to World Jr/U23 Championship Trials & NC U18 B-Tour Trials

Size of Team:         16 athletes (8 male and 8 female)
Age Eligibility:       Athletes born in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010

Selection Criteria 

1.     Eligible athletes must be current members of Cross Country BC in good standing with the Association.

2.   Eligible athletes must be current members of the 2026-27 BC Ski Team or BC Development Squad.

3.     Athletes will be selected based on the following:

3.1     The total number of athletes will be 16 (eight male and eight female).

3.2    Male and female athletes born in 2007 or 2008 will require a minimum of 85.00 points on the April 15, 2026 CPL (either Distance or Sprint) in order to qualify.  

3.3    Male and female athletes born in 2009 or 2010 will require a minimum of 83.00 points on the April 15, 2026 CPL (either Distance or Sprint) in order to qualify.

3.4   Eligible athletes will be ranked in each of these four categories (U20 Men; U20 Women; U18 Boys; U18 Girls) according to their CPL points.  The top four ranked athletes in each four categories will be selected.  If there are not enough athletes in either the U20 Men or U18 Boys categories to fill their respective quotas, the next ranked male athlete from the other category will be selected.  If there are not enough athletes in either the U20 Women or U18 Girls categories to fill their respective quotas, the next ranked female athlete from the other category will be selected. 

3.5     The discretion of the Athlete Development Committee who may consider “force majeure”, past performances, etc. to assist them in making the selections.
